One of Joel DeBellefeuille's principal contributions to the field of public accountability has been the development of The Seven Executive Archetypes, the interpretive framework underlying The Red Coalition's Field Judgment Reflection Assessment.
The framework was developed through an interdisciplinary synthesis of constitutional law, police ethics, administrative law, procedural fairness, behavioural science, organizational psychology, leadership theory, and professional decision-making principles, further informed by years of practical experience analyzing allegations involving racial profiling, police ethics, institutional accountability, and administrative decision-making.
Rather than measuring legal liability or determining misconduct, the framework evaluates recurring patterns of professional judgment, leadership, communication, procedural fairness, and institutional accountability. It was designed as a structured methodology to support education, reflective practice, coaching, organizational learning, leadership development, and continuous professional improvement.
The assessment presents twenty-one professionally designed scenarios interpreted through seven Executive Archetypes, each representing a distinct approach to professional judgment and decision-making. Together, they provide organizations with a consistent framework for understanding how individuals exercise authority, communicate, resolve conflict, apply procedural fairness, and build public trust.
